Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

On which Committees do you serve in the House of Representatives?

I currently have the privilege of serving on the Medical, Military, and Municipal Committee where I have greatly enjoyed working on legislation improving healthcare in our state and supporting our veterans.  Additionally, I serve on the Operations and Management Committee for the House of Representatives.

What do you believe?

I believe in South Carolina—in our people, in our values, in our future. As a state we are experiencing unprecedented growth and opportunity, and the Upstate is spearheading the way. We need bold leadership in Columbia to rein in tax burdens and out of control government spending, and enact much-needed ethics reforms.  I am passionate about education. South Carolinians, especially our children, deserve a far greater education than we are currently receiving. 50th in the nation is unacceptable. We need to overhaul the burdensome education department and make sure our taxpayer dollars get to the classroom, increase teacher pay to support our public servants, and give parents more choice in the education of their children.  I proudly support our law enforcement officers and our veterans.  Public health policy is also close to my heart, specifically mental health, drug addiction and prevention, and elder care. I am honored to serve on the Medical, Military, and Municipal Committee in the House where I have been able to be an advocate for the most vulnerable members of our community.  I am proudly pro-life. My wife and I are blessed with two adorable children, Ella Marie and Hamilton Michael, and this issue is close to our hearts. Our state must protect the life of every person, no matter how small. Columbia is in need of solid Conservative leadership, and I pledge to continue bringing that to our State Capital.

What is your Background?

My wife and I attended high school and college in Greenville. We love the Taylors community and are honored to call it home. I attended law school at the University of South Carolina and became a licensed attorney in 2015. Over the last couple of years, my wife and I began to take over daily operations of her family’s small business, and today we enjoy the experience of running Majesty Music, a Christian publishing company that serves thousands of churches and individuals across the globe. Although I enjoy the practice of law, the experience of owning and operating a small business has opened my eyes to the paramount importance of pro-business policies. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and must be supported by and guarded against government policies.  I serve as a deacon at Morningside Baptist Church, and also serve as a board member of Open Door Baptist Missions.
